The Krewe of HBCUs has a profound awareness of its obligation to students attending historically black colleges and universities. The enthusiasm and dedication of our membership fuels our steadfast devotion to elevating the potential of HBCU students, both academically and as custodians of our shared humanity.
We welcome all who want to connect with our vibrant fusion of celebration and empowerment, most especially during the Carnival season. By tapping our vast
membership base of knowledgeable, highly educated, and talented alumni,
we can ensure students everywhere have access to free educational assistance from some of the finest minds in the world.

Partnerships with local schools and teachers will provide access to students who can then register for virtual tutoring via a shared calendar. Having global alumni will allow us to offer a wide array of sessions. We will track analytics to measure student improvement over time.

Global Virtual Tutorial Program

Through the volunteerism of local alumni, we will mentor youth in preparation for all aspects of a successful HBCU experience, including study skills, time management, and fiscal responsibility.

Higher Education

In creating opportunities that expose our youth to city and state leadership, we will facilitate their understanding of how early and committed involvement can positively impact their own local communities.

Civic Leadership

By offering field trips to wind and solar farms and parks, we aim to raise awareness and concern regarding the fragility of our planet and foster committed stewardship for the critical need to preserve its limited resources. Sessions with guest speakers will educate regarding the multitude of global efforts to arrest further irreversible impacts and how the youth can become both benefactor and beneficiary.

Environmental Stewardship

African Americans, particularly those in impoverished areas with limited resources—experience poorer mental and physical health outcomes than on average. Through sporting events such as annual 3/5/10K walk-runs and by
partnering with local community gardening efforts, we propose to encourage our youth to adopt lifelong health choices to change the health trajectory in the African American community.

Health Awareness

Through group volunteerism, we hope to lead by example. We desire to instill in students a passion for selfless giving to one’s community. Moreover, we anticipate the discovery that giving is the most important gift one can confer to oneself.

Giving Back

HBCU alumni volunteers will contribute to our “One Day in the Life” immersion workshops wherein students get hands on experience in a myriad of career fields. We will also offer resume writing assistance and job interview

The Krewe of HBCUs is driven by a commitment to propel the aspirations and academic dreams of students attending historically black colleges and universities into reality.

Our various initiatives address critical capacities designed to enable our students to lead and thrive in the 21st century and beyond.

ADVANCING EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION, ADVOCATING FOR HUMANITY

The Krewe of HBCUs is driven by a commitment to propel the aspirations and academic dreams of students attending historically black colleges and universities into reality.

Our various initiatives address critical capacities designed to enable our students to lead and thrive in the 21st century and beyond.

Through financial assistance and career exposure, we highlight and enhance the unique opportunities an HBCU education provides. Beyond our civic obligations, the Krewe of HBCUs is established to showcase the creative dynamism of HBCU students, alum, faculty, and friends during the festive carnival season occurring annually in New Orleans.
